Bonnie Lee Bouman epitomises excellence as one of South Africa’s premier Performance Casting Directors. Graduating from Vancouver Film School with a specialisation in Acting for Film and Television, she embarked on a transformative journey that led her back home to establish her own company in 2003. Bonnie is renowned for her visionary and performance-centric casting direction across all visual mediums, including TV series, commercials, and feature films.

Her profound understanding of the intricacies of the film and TV industry empowers her to navigate the casting process with unparalleled finesse. From the vibrant townships to grandiose kingdoms, Bonnie’s bold and direct approach ensures that every project captures the essence of South Africa’s rich talent pool.

As an independent Casting Director, Bonnie champions inclusivity and authenticity, rejecting nepotism to showcase the full spectrum of South African talent. Casting across major cities with language being no barrier, her extensive knowledge of accents and ethnicities adds depth and authenticity to every production.

With accolades including a nomination for the Shoprite Checkers Woman of the Year Award in 2007, she has served 5 times as an International Emmy Juror, Bonnie’s influence extends beyond borders. Her role as judge and acting coach on “Class Act,” a reality TV show searching for “SA’s Leading Man,” and as a judge for the MTV Shuga series further underscores her commitment to finding new talent and uplifting them.  She has judged the SAFTA’s as well as assisted the NFVF with Oscar selections.  She holds regular acting and auditioning workshops to help actors master their craft as well as educating new up and coming artistes on the A – Z of the Film industry.
